Bus Service Available In Potter County
Area Transportation Authority of Northcentral Pa. has embarked on a public relations campaign to make people aware of its service. Many Potter County residents are unaware of the fact that those familiar ATA buses they see on area roads can provide transportation at a reasonable cost for shopping, doctor appointments, employment and other activities. Those 65 and older can qualify for a reduced fare through Pennsylvania Lottery revenues.
ATA has launched “Call A Bus,” encouraging people who want to learn more about local bus service or schedule a ride to call a toll-free telephone number: 1-866-282-4968. Brochures explaining riders’ options are available at the Potter County Commissioners office at the Gunzburger Building.
Brochures detail the following schedules:
Coudersport (including Cole Hospital, Sweden Valley, Jenkins Hill, Roulette, Olmstead and other areas) — 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday; additional hours of 7:30 am to 9 am from mid-September to mid-May.
Galeton (including Germania and other areas) — 10 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 2 pm; additional hours of 7:30 am to 8:15 am and 3 pm to 3:30 pm from mid-September to mid-May.
